Have you ever had One Of Those Days? A day where ...
... the kids have been driving you crazy?
... the kids have been cooped up inside for too many days in a row?
... you don't really feel like focusing on the homeschool work?
... you don't want to stay home and worry about the cooking and the laundry?
Well ... last Thursday was "one of those days" at our house. Both of my Thursday Bible Study Babies cancelled that morning, because they had older siblings that were sick. We had ...
... nothing on our schedule.
... nothing that HAD to be done.
... nowhere we HAD to go.
So ... I surprised the kids with a Picnic at the Beach (in 32 degree weather).
It was COLD. But, we had FUN!
The kids ... all bundled up.

Rachel pretended to eat crabs for lunch.

Time for Lunch
Rachel melted her candy cane
in her hot chocolate.
Sarah enjoyed a melted
candy cane, too.
Jacob likes his PB& J sandwich.
hey laurel - we are so happy we are home - now we are just adjusting and praying differently. Any tips on food? He is not eating much - bananas and rice of course -oh, the day he will enjoy a pbj sandwich~!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is also waking up at 5:00 am - not good!
We are homeschooling and today was a great day - I think a lot of it will depend on how my morning goes before they wake up. If I am able to wake up early and have my coffee and my quiet time - get ready and even put some clothes on to wash - I feel better and I am ready to be with the kids all day.
well - you had mentioned about mentoring - does that work long distance?
have a great day~
hooray!!! i love all the photos!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome!!! Wanna Lead a MOPS group at church...hit hint..wink..wink
ReplyDeleteHey Laurel-
ReplyDeleteLooks like SO MUCH fun! It's been really cold, too. Very adventurous of you! The girls' hair looks so nice. When is the next time you will be doing one of them? I'd love to come and learn before the girls get here. You weave in extensions, right? I know you said you'd be happy to help - hopefully we will be going to get them in the next month. So - let me know. We can talk homeschool, too. I'm also new at that. Love you!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteIt has actually been 11 weeks since we put those braids in, so we are having some Hair Days this week. We finished Sarah's new braids yesterday, and will take out Rachel's tomorrow night. Hope you can come up on Thursday or Friday for a braiding party.
I am truly amazed at how long the braids last, and how good they look after almost 3 months.
blessings,
Laurel :)
