Seeing Red

Oh yes ... LOTS of RED at our house today.

What do we do with 100# of Strawberries?

eat them fresh & plain

cover ice cream with them

eat them fresh & plain

make them into jam

eat them fresh & plain

slice & freeze for later
(to put on/in ice cream, pancakes,
waffles, smoothies, milkshakes,
homemade granola, etc ...)

Hosanna & I did some of our slicing tonight,
for our "flash freezing".  We freeze them on
cookie sheets and then pop them into freezer
baggies, so that they are frozen individually.

Yummmmmy for Our Tummmmmies ...

If I'm not blog hopping
(and leaving you encouraging comments)
for the next few days ... you'll know what I'm busy with.

  2. Mama D, we have been living off of fresh strawberry crepes lately... love them, yum, yum. You know when I was pregnant at this time of the year with 3 of my babes this is the months when I gained the most weight. I know, STRAWBERRIES? I inhaled them, you know how everything tastes even that much better when pregnant...this time always reminds me of that. Happy strawberry season!

you should flash freeze a special batch and put them in a special ziplock and take a special Marker, and write on that special ziplock:

**THESE STRAWBERRIES ARE SPECIALLY RESERVED FOR OUR SPECIAL CASSIE. PLEASE DO NOT EAT.**
