After a couple of days of being totally exhausted and overwhelmed, the Lord picked me up and got me back on my feet. Thanks for your prayers! I've gotten a LOT accomplished the past couple of days. Whew!
Please pray for safety for the Big D. Family this week. We have kids traveling here ... there ... and everywhere; and we had a BIG storm hit this weekend. Storms like this are not typical for Western Washington, especially this early in the winter.
Josh & Hannah are heading across the state tomorrow. They've got snow on the ground and temps under 10 degrees. Neither of them have much experience driving in the snow. We are thankful that they bought new snow tires today.
Cassie & Dean will be heading across the mountain passes tomorrow, as well. They both have LOTS of snow driving experience, and Cassie has a sweet little 4x4 SUV. But, they still need to be cautious, and watch out for others that aren't used to driving in the snow.
Jeremiah & Ashleigh will be making the long drive on Wednesday (picking up Vicky along the way). They'll be driving Mama's little station wagon, which handles pretty well in the snow. You can pray for Ashleigh, though, as she doesn't know what to do with this bitter cold (we've been having 40 mph winds to go along with temps in the 20's). Ashleigh is a Texas and California girl. She didn't even own "winter clothes" until this week.
Papa, Mama, Lindsey, and the Young Ones will also be out on the roadways this week. Our BIG van is NOT a snowmobile, so I'm a bit nervous. Please pray for safe travels for all of us.
Assuming that we all make it safely to our destination, we are beyond excited to be spending Thanksgiving with 10 of our 12 children, 1 of our Adopted Big Kids, 2 soon-to-be-daughter-in-laws, and Cassie's boyfriend (here from Minnesota for the holiday).
We had so hoped that Carissa and Marcello could have joined us from Argentina; so we will miss them greatly. Gregg couldn't make it home for Thanksgiving, either; because he is a retail manager. So, he has to work on "Black Friday". But, we are looking forward to seeing him next month, at the wedding in Texas.
Thanksgiving has been our family's favorite holiday for 20+ years. It means so much that the Big Kids want to continue our family traditions, and are willing to put the time and effort into being together for this holiday.
I hope that each of you have a WONDERFUL week. I pray that you will spend time with your families, THANKING the LORD for ALL that HE has BLESSED you with. No matter how "tight" our finances might be, we are BLESSED beyond belief.
We love Thanksgiving here too. Hope you have an awesome holiday with your family!!
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for travel safety!!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a BLESSING to have Vicky & Kati here...and we realized that we will see you all again in December!!! YEAH!!!!!! :)
Safe travels for all.
ReplyDeleteThis year Thanksgiving will be different for us as our boys are with their own families and we are by ourselves getting ready to sell Christmas trees.
God is good and for that we are thankful.
Praying for safe travels in Jesus' Name.
