A Child's Menu?

Yesterday was Hosanna's 15th Birthday.  Woo Hoo!  I can't believe our Little Princess has grown up.  (Being 7 years younger than the next oldest sisters, and being surrounded by 2 boys on either side, she was definitely "The Princess" in her younger years.)

For Hosanna's Birthday, we bought things for her Teal & Pink Re-Decorated Bedroom:  3 new comforters (as the little sisters' needed to match), a lamp, a mirror, a pencil holder, and 2 picture frames.

Last night, I took Hosanna and a friend out-to-dinner and then to the bowling alley to bowl a couple of games.  When we walked into Red Robin, the hostess looked at me and said, "Do you need 2 Children's Menus?"  What?!  I quietly answered (as the girls hadn't heard the question), "No.  Two regular menus."

While walking us to our table, the hostess asked, "What are you doing today?  Have you had a good day?"  to which I responded, "We're celebrating my daughter's 15th birthday." (with an emphasis on the 15).

Both girls are in high school.  Hosanna has eaten off of the regular menu for quite a few years.  Since she's been a teenager, I do not remember ever being asked if she needed a Children's Menu (which I believe states is "for children through 10 years old).

After we got seated, I did tell the girls about the conversation and we all thought it was pretty funny to be asked on her 15th birthday.

We had a fun evening ... and a good laugh.

Happy Birthday, Hosanna!

  1. That is funny. Some day she will be happy that people think she is younger! My 22 year old gets asked if she isstill in H.S. and she is going to be graduating from COLLEGE this spring! She always gets so irritated...I keep telling her she will be happy when she is my age and people think she is younger...but, right now it is hard for her to believe it!!! ;)

  2. Melody-Mae ... You totally do NOT look your age. :) The only time I really didn't like it that I looked "young for my age" was when I was expecting my first baby. I was 22, and everyone thought I was a little high school unwed mother.

Now, at nearly 50, I so love the fact that I "don't look my age" ... especially since I still have a house full of young ones.

    :) :) :)
