I told you last week that I was busy, busy, busy with a crafting project ... but I couldn't say what it was because it was a present.
Now I can share pics ...
Not only did we have a WEDDING this past weekend, but we had a BABY SHOWER, as well. Yes. We are only a month or so away from meeting our precious new GRANDSON.
A week before the shower, I went shopping for the present. I wasn't in a hurry, as I knew it would be easy to find something cute for this little guy. But, before heading to the mall, I had to stop by Michael's Craft Store for a quick errand. And ... that is when the IDEA hit me.
No. I wasn't going to just buy Little Guy a cute outfit. Of course not. What Grandma needed to do was to MAKE him a PERSONALIZED SCRAPBOOK. Oh. My. Yes.
I didn't really expect to complete it. I knew I could take it 1/2 finished, and then finish it up before he arrives next month. But ... I was having SO MUCH FUN that I just couldn't stop.
I began Grandma's Project on Monday evening ... and completed it Thursday evening. Now, this wasn't like one of my Scrapbooking Retreats, where I can spend every.single.minute scrapping to my hearts content. No. This was a regular week ... with lunch dates, doctors appointments, homeschooling, packing for our weekend trip.
But ...
Grandma completed a 48 page "Noah's First Year" Scrapbook. Yes. I. Did.
Here are a few pics of the completed project ...
Kayla * The Excited Mommy
48 (12x12) Pages Completed

... every major holiday
... every season
As I put the completed album into it's box ... and slipped it into a pretty Gift Bag ... I had a HORRIFYING thought:
"Oh my! What kind of precedent am I setting? This is only Grandbaby #1. With a Dozen Children, I could easily have 30-40 grandchildren."
Hannah (Josh's wife) was at the Baby Shower with us, and she immediately piped up that she will be looking forward to her babies' albums in a few years.
It's a Good Thing that I LOVED making this album. However ... next time ... I think I'd better start working on it a little earlier in the pregnancy. (smile)
Aw what a beautiful gift! What a beautiful idea!!! :) :) and you made me laugh with 40 grandchildren! maybe you can make a digital scrapbook so you can easily put them together and colour print them out... and even make a home business of selling grandbabies digital scrapbook??? just an idea! :D (you certainly do have the gift, I just loved the look of your scrapbook :) )
