Let's Play a Blogging Game

I was tagged in a Meme.  Do you know what a Meme is?  I haven’t been tagged in YEARS.
Memes are fun.  They take me out of my box.  They force me to think about new things, and share things that I wonder if any of you even care about.  :)
Anyway, the (bendable) Rules of the Meme…
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things about herself on her blog.  (Answer the 11 questions the "tagger" listed for you.)
3. Each person must create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. Each person must choose 11 people to tag and link to them in the post.  (Go to each blogger’s page and mention that you have tagged them.)
Here are the 11 questions that my Sweet Bloggy Friend Debi asked ...
1. Word association. I say “tender”, you say ______________.  sweet, gentle, loving
2. What is the most important virtue you possess?
faithful: to the Lord, to my husband, to my family, to my friends
3. Favorite song and why?
Beauty Will Rise by Stephen Curtis Chapman  *  My husband and I went to see him in concert in July 2009.  We were in the middle of our Adoption Disruption Crisis, and this song ministered to me so very clearly.  It was the first time S.C.C. had performed the song in public.  (He wrote it after the tragic accident which killed his young daughter.)
4. If you had to choose someone from the Bible that most closely represents you, who would it be?
For the past 3 years, I have felt like Moses ... wandering in the desert, wondering if we will ever make it to the Promised Land.  Parched by the hot sun.  Thirsty for God's refreshment.  Continuing to take one step at a time ... trusting the the Lord is leading each step.
5. A quote or inspirational verse that you turn to when times are tough.
Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
6. What is your favorite recipe?
These are two (I'm bending the rules) of our Family Favorites.  I created both recipes myself:  Chicken Alfredo Lasagne and Apple/Blueberry Pie.
7. Most dramatic childhood memory.
(this is going to SHOCK a few family members that read my blog ... sorry)   I attempted suicide at age 15.  I downed a whole bottle of prescription drugs and passed out for about 24 hours.  Right before passing out, I cried out to the Lord and said "God, if there really is a God, now would be a good time to save me if you're really there."  When I woke up, I knew He had saved me, and I set out to find out who He really was.

8. (for a school throw-back question) If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?  I would be an Oak Tree, standing tall, standing strong against the wind.  My limbs might bend a bit, but they will not break.  I may get a bit tangled up by the storms, but I will not fall.
9. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?  No question here.  Lose weight ... a lot of weight ...  My weight is my "thorn in my flesh" always painful, always frustrating, never ending.
10. Coffee? Iced, frozen, hot or not?  First of all, it has to be a Mocha; no plain coffee for this Mama.  Hot White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha in the winter and Iced White Chocolate Raspberry Mocha in the summer.  Oh yes!  I LOVE my Espresso Machine.  It saves me LOTS of money.
11. A moment in time that changed your life?
Just one moment?  Seriously?  Gotta bend the rules again (and I am so NOT a rule bender).
Defining Moments:
April 1977 * Suicide Attempt
July 1981 * Jim proposed on our 3rd date (and I was just 19)
August 1983  *  Doctors told me I had a 2% chance to ever get pregnant.
December 1998  *  My 8 children and I were HIT by a Semi-Truck
June 2009  *  Adoption Crisis
December 2010  *  Marriage Crisis

Now for the 11 questions for the people that I tag:
1.  What is your Favorite Dessert?
2.  What is your Favorite Book (not the Bible)?  Why?
3.  What is your Favorite Book of the Bible? Why?
4.  When did you give your life to the Lord?
5.  What is your Favorite Childhood Memory?
6.  What is your Worst Childhood Memory?
7.  What Character Traits make your Best Friend your Best Friend?
8.  What do you see as Your Most Important Character Trait or Virtue?
9.  What person in the Bible do you most relate to?
10. What Scripture Verse do you cling to in times of trouble?
11.  List the 5 Top Defining Moments of your life.

And, now for the 11 people I am tagging:
1.  My sweet, wonderful, beautiful Daughter, Hosanna Joy.
2.  Awesome, fun, faithful Adopted Big Kid, Kati J.
3.  Strong, solid, prayer-warrior Real Life Friend, Shilo.
4.  Strong, fun, Mother of 16, Real Life Friend, Sarah.
5.  I would tag my Wonderful, prayerful, Mother of 9, Real Life Friend, Dawn ... but she got tagged by sweet friend Debi already.
6.  Joy-filled, 2 time Cancer Survivor, Encourager, Real Life Friend, Melody-Mae.
7.  Strong, Faith-Filled, Prayer-Filled, Mother of 5 Real Life Friend, Donna.
8.  Sweet, Cute, Creative Mama of 3, Bloggy Friend, Ashley of The Vanilla Tulip.

10.  Soon-to-be-Mother-of-7, Africa-Bound, Missionary Mama, Bloggy Friend, Jessica of The Making of M.O.M.
11.  Super Strong, Faithful, Encourager, Bloggy Friend, Kate of Kate & Ben.
So, there you have it.
If you choose to accept, let me know.
I’d love to read your answers.
And, if you’re a reader of mine and I didn’t tag you and you’d still like to answer my questions, please do and let me know.  Anyone that let me know they are playing the game, will get linked back to this post.
