Memories of "The Good Ol' Days" are always FILLED
with memories of Playing At The Park.
Summer 1998
We went to ...
... the red park.
... the duck park.
... the wading pool park.
Looking back at all of our Fun Family Photos recently has made me sad.
Sad for our younger kids.
Sad that the past few years have been filled with so much stress.
Wishing that they could have had a carefree childhood like their older siblings did.
Knowing how much they need to be able to PLAY.
Praying that they don't grow up wishing they could have a do-over on childhood.
But ... THANKFUL that they have had
4 AMAZING Cross-Country Road Trips
(something their older siblings didn't have).
I am most certainly ready to PLAY at the PARK
with my Young Ones this Spring and Summer.
Yes.
Yes.
Those Were The Days ...

I have to believe that our kids wouldn't have had a childhood without us. I've seen my bio kids live through it and thrive and now my younger ones healing. But the years that they DID have with us at children were overshadowed by the things we didn't know that were happening. I have to believe God has a greater purpose for each of our kids and though we might not see it right now these days will be redeemed, not just for us, but for them as well. Praying you can look at your life knowing you have a purpose and a plan. Love you!

DeleteI do KNOW that the LORD called us to adopt. Therefore, I do KNOW that HE has a plan for the difficulties that our bio. kids have had to endure. But ... I still feel badly for them. :(
I will say, though, that my 10 year old son is the MOST loving and compassionate little boy that I have ever met ... so I know that the LORD has used the difficult circumstances already to mold his character.
:) :) :)
Laurel,
ReplyDeletethis is a lovely photo. There are so many different ways to a have great childhood. do not feel bad that the young ones are havign a different childhood than the big kids did. as parents we do the best we can for our children. your young ones are benefitting from the different experiences, from having parents that take nothing for granted any more, from going on road trips from having older siblings across the country and are still recieving the unconditional love of two amazing parents
Thanks, Anna!
