Have you ever had a week where you just want it to be over as soon as possible?
There wasn't really anything BIG this week . . .
but it's just been TOUGH . . .
really TOUGH.
The Marriage is in a TOUGH spot.
Relationships with Big Kids are in a TOUGH spot.
Younger Kids are going through a TOUGH spot.
Close Friends are going through TOUGH stuff.
I have found myself close to tears so. many. times. this week . . .
about things that usually wouldn't put me "over the edge".
Usually, just one or two areas of Bright Spots
are enough to keep the balance . . .
but when every. single. area. of. my. life. is in TOUGH mode,
it is HARD to keep the focus where it needs to be.
When the marriage is STRONG,
we can face most anything TOGETHER.
When the Young Ones are doing well,
my days go oh. so. much. smoother.
But, when both of the above areas are just. plain. "off".,
the daily dance through life is not. so. easy. any more.
Please keep me in your prayers,
that the Lord would bring . . .
His love,
and grace,
and wisdom,
and strength,
into each and every area of TOUGH.
Thanks, Friends!!!
I hope you all had a better week than I did. (smile)
I am praying for you. I have a kind of tough few days. Not easy. Learning to thank Him and trust Him for what's happening.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the "thanking" and "trusting" is just. plain. hard.
DeleteSorry you've had a couple of tough days, too.
:) :) :)
Have had many a tough weeks. I hope this weekend gives you time to rest and give yourself the grace you extend to so many.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ali. Sorry things have been tough for you, too.
DeleteWith Jim putting in 12-14 hrs. a day Painting Houses, 6 days/week, it just puts Mama "On" 24-7. I am definitely feeling a need for some time just to sit . . . and read . . . and think . . . and pray.
Hoping to let Papa have some "Kid Time" tomorrow, while Mama takes some "Mama Time".
:) :) :)
{{HUGS}} Prayers are going up for you right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Prayer always appreciated!

Hang in there. Not really a tough week here but I figured at almost six weeks my knee would be healed and it's not. Thought my fever would be gone and it's not. Thought the twins would realize that it makes more sense to just do what you need to and have the rest of the day free but they haven't. Just a blah week.
ReplyDeleteHope things start looking up for you. You've been through enough junk for this life time.
"You've been through enough junk for this life time."
DeleteAmen.
I am TIRED. Worn out. In need of serious spiritual and emotional refreshment and rejuvenation.
Hope you get some healing soon.
Laurel :)
Adam comes home tonight after 6-7 weeks at mission camp. I hope it made enough difference that we can get through his senior year. I let him stay home last summer and it was so stressful trying to keep tabs on him. But Kayla has made up for him being gone by developing a stealing habit and she is so stubborn too--silent defiance all the way. Blah. Wish I could send just a couple back to school on the 20th and keep the rest home for some special time together without dealing with issues!!! Know what I mean?
DeletePraying for you!!!!!!! Wish I could come over and give you a big HUG! :D Hope tomorrow is the beginning of a better week of rest and healing.
ReplyDeleteAren't these the times that we slip back into old, unhealthy behaviors??? Logically it makes more sense - we know that we'd be happier if we make good food choices, we know that you we better when we assertively ask for what we need, we know we feel happier when we set enough boundaries so we have private time. But our feelings (guilt, sadness, even good ol' familiarity) send us back on that old path of self-destruction. For me sometimes it helps to concretely think "turn the emotions off right now" and "turn the logic on." Or, who's driving the bus? My logic or my feelings.
ReplyDeleteditto here. dh was a bit off last week, m.i.l. coming back this week, and I am muddled in the middle of 'bleh'. Know that I pray for you... looking forward together, eh? =)
