Sweet 16

Hosanna and I took a little "trip" last weekend . . .

just 50 miles away . . .

for only 24 hours . . .

but it was FUN!

All of these pictures were taken throughout the past year.

Before our jaunt to see Gregg, Kayla, and Noah on Saturday afternoon,

Hosanna and I slipped away for a 24 Hour Mama/Daughter Time.

Papa took Josiah & Elijah to a Father/Son Retreat with the men/boys from church.

Sarah went to spend the night at some friends' house.

And . . . Hosanna and I went away to celebrate her 16th Birthday.

We checked into a Nice Hotel. 

We spent a couple of hours shopping for "School Clothes".

(now that Hosanna is actually going to school for 2 hrs. per day)

We went to dinner at Johnny Carinos.  Yummm ...

We went back to the hotel and went swimming

and sat in the hot tub and chatted.

We watched a few t.v. shows.

(and laughed at some crazy shows,

as we don't watch t.v. at our house)

When we went to bed at midnight I told Hosanna,

"We can sleep in.  We have nothing to wake up for."

I woke up at 6:45 am.  Wide awake.

I quietly got out my computer and read blogs 

for awhile while Hosanna slept.

We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel

before packing our bags and loading the car.

We then did a bit more shopping 

before Papa and the kids picked us up to head south.

We each bought a couple of sale items at the mall,

and Hosanna bought a couple of things at the Consignment Store.

It wasn't really all about the shopping . . .

but more about the Special Mother/Daughter Time

with my dear daughter that is growing up way. too. fast.

Happy 16th Birthday, Hosanna Joy!!!

These are NOT her new school clothes.  (smile)
