Jim and I each received a little gift this week.
No.
It wasn't our birthdays . . . or any holiday.
No.
It wasn't wrapped in gold paper . . . or any paper.
No.
It wasn't from a friend . . . or from anyone we even knew.
What was My Gift?
I received an envelope in the mail this week from a Bloggy Friend
(who became a "Real Life Friend" when we met in June).
But . . . the present wasn't from her.
This Blog Friend had told her Blog Readers that she had a few
friends who were walking a Tough Adoption Journey,
and she was wondering if any of them would like to
encourage and bless one of these Mamas.
I received a sweet note . . .
with Scripture verses . . .
and encouragement . . .
and a $15 Starbucks Card . . .
from an anonymous reader of my friend's blog.
So. So. Sweet.
What was Jim's Gift?
Jim has been working, working, working.
He has been working full-time for a Construction Business,
and then working his own Independent Painting Jobs
every night and weekend.
At one of his painting jobs last weekend,
he had casually said, "hi" to a neighbor.
(a man in his 70's)
On Sunday, we had lunch at church and then Jim headed straight to his job site.
He didn't take any food, as he was planning to be home by dinner.
But, as often happens, the work took longer than expected.
Before he could even worry about what he would eat for dinner, though,
this neighbor man came knocking on the door
and handed Jim a HUGE french bread deli sandwich
and a cake from dessert.
Seriously?!?!
When Jim thanked him,
the man said, "I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do."
I guess the Lord had given specific instructions to this guy, huh?
What an Absolute Blessing . . .
and a beautiful confirmation from the Lord
that HE will continue to take care of our every need.
Then . . .
tonight . . .
a new friend at church was so excited that Jim and I are going away
on a WONDERFUL (and crazy blessing from the Lord) vacation
in a couple of weeks to celebrate our 30th Anniversary . . .
that she offered to pay for "something we would love to do but can't afford to".
Oh. My. !
What a GIFT !
What a BLESSING !
We are truly HUMBLED by the LOVE and CARE that the LORD is SHOWERING upon us.
It truly is . . .
"The Little Things That Count"
While we continue to pray for a "Permanent", "Career" position for Jim,
God has shown us His love and provision over and over and over.
Yes.
We are BLESSED.

praising the Lord :)
