Excited!
I purposely left out the major details on my Life and Death post on Friday night. The post was not as much about the people involved . . . as much as it was about the feelings, the ponderings, the processing of the loss of life and news of new life beginning, with 2 separate phone calls that came within 30 minutes of each other.
I purposely left out the names and details so that other extended family members might hear of the news before reading anything on my blog . . . giving the grieving relatives time to make any needed phone calls . . . and the excited expectant parents time to make their phone calls.
Now . . . however . . . I am EXCITED to tell you that Grandbaby #3 is On The Way!!!
Yes!
Jeremiah and Ashleigh are expecting their first child in June 2013.
(Uncle Ben and "Uncle Jared" - who are roommates - and "Auntie" Vicky
all have birthdays that week, so there will be quite the competition
for the honor to share their birthday with this new little one.)
This will give us 3 grandbabies in a short 15 months. Woo Hoo!!!
I guess since we had 4 children get married in just 14 months,
this was to be expected. (We "think" the 4th couple plans to
wait a bit . . . but the peer pressure might be mounting.)
Fun Fact:
Whereas the weddings did not go in order of age / birth order . . .
(weddings went from 3rd child, 6th child, 2nd child, to 1st child)
babies are arriving in birth order fashion.
(1st child, 2nd child, 3rd child)
We are so happy for Jeremiah & Ashleigh, and pray that Ashleigh gets to feeling better soon.
We are looking forward to the birth of Cassie & Dean's little one, coming up in January.
And, we are so enjoying getting to know Gregg & Kayla's Little Noah, who is 8 months old already.
But . . . we are oh. so. sad. that our grandbabies don't live near us,
nor will they be living near each other.
While our children did not grow up hardly even knowing
their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, we had so hoped
that the next generation would grow up with close extended family relationships.
It will take a lot more work on all our parts, but I hope and pray that our family finds a way to stay close . . . over the miles and over the years. I know that each of these little ones could be so blessed by their uncles and aunties and cousins . . . and that we could all be so blessed to gather together, once again, as a Big Happy Family.
Please continue to keep our Family Relationships in your prayers.

How exciting for Jeremiah and Ashleigh (as well as the rest of the family!)
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat that the grand babies are arriving to your children in birth order....
We also have added(are adding) 3 grand babies to our family in just 17 short months... but 2 of those grand babies are siblings :) My youngest sister and I both had babies within 4 months last year and then in May, we found out we were expecting again with baby #2 for us arriving in Jan 2013 (when our first child will be only 17 months old). While it wasn't planned by us, we are excited that God has blessed us with another child. These grand babies are # 8, 9 & 10 for my parents :D
I pray that while these babies may not live close to you or each other, that through modern technology that they will grow up knowing each other.
Congrats again!
