Not Pretty

Have any of you ever had one whole side of your neck swollen by enlarged glands?  I have no idea what I'm dealing with.

  1. Could be mono or Lyme...you'd better get to the doctor PRONTO!

  2. My friend's son got an infection in the parotid gland. His neck was swollen under his ear and extending toward his chin. Does that sound like the same thing?

    1. Actually, a week ago I wondered if I had mono because of the exhaustion. So, when I googled swollen glands I wasn't surprised to see that mono was a possibility. Ugh. So. Not. Fun.

    2. About the only thing good about might be a doctor enforced naptime for mommy! "No really, I have to take a nap, I have a note from the Doctor!!" ;)

  4. Oh no! My aunt had mono and couldn't get rid of the symptoms for weeks :( praying for you, Laurel! I wouldn't let the kids drink or eat off anything of yours just in case, that'd be awful if the whole house caught it! :( If you need any help with the kiddos just let me know. :) Hope you feel better soon!!

    1. I am staying OUT of the kitchen. Hosanna is even making my protein shakes for me. :)

I will definitely call you if I need some help. Thanks, much!

  5. I've had mono before and had pretty swollen lymph nodes in my neck but they also can be from other, more acute, illnesses. Be sure to take some Motrin or Tylenol and check in with your doctor! Sending you healing vibes, Laurel...

    1. I will be phoning the doctor in the morning, if I'm not feeling significantly better. Payday is tomorrow, and I had to wait until then to have the money to pay for a doctor's visit (since I have no insurance).
