On December 9th, I wrote the post,
I told you that I was "really close to the Big 5-0 Loss".
I was confident that I would hit 50 Pounds Lost before Christmas.
Well . . .
sadly . . .
it didn't happen.
After losing 13 pounds in 14 days . . .
my body just decided to get off the weight loss track.
Ugh.
On December 10th . . . I hit #47 lost.
On December 11th . . . I hit #48 lost.
my weight ping-ponged up and down
On December 15th . . . I hit 48# lost. Again.
my weight ping-ponged up and down
Company came and went.
Christmas came and went.
New Years came and went.
My extra pounds stuck around.
On January 4th . . . I hit 48# lost. Again.
my weight ping-ponged up and down
On January 10th . . . I hit #49 lost. Whew!
On January 11th . . . I hit #50 lost. Finally!
my weight ping-ponged up and down
On January 15th . . . I hit 50# lost. Again.
On January 16th . . . I hit #51 lost. Finally.
It took me a very long 5 weeks to lose 4 pounds.
This was rather discouraging . . .
since I was very focused on my diet during this time . . .
passing up so many Christmas Goodies . . .
passing up so many New Years Treats.
But . . .
I am staying strong . . .
I am keeping on track . . .
I am doing all that I can . . .
to start losing again.
After a LOT of ping-ponging up and down . . .
I have lost #4 in the past 3 days.
Oh. So. Hoping. . . .
that this is the beginning of another downturn.
I am heading off on a little trip next Wednesday . . .
so am hoping to lose another #5 or so before I go.
I really need to buy a new pair of jeans . . .
but don't want to only go down 1 size.
(I have tried hard to stay away from the Women's Clothing Department,
as I want to wait until I drop another #50 before re-stocking my wardrobe.)
Even though the past 5 weeks have been discouraging . . .
I am Oh. So. Happy. to report that . . .
I lost #50 (and 46") in just over 6 months . . .
and that is . . .
not. too. shabby.
not. too. shabby.
50# is Awesome! Please splurge and buy a pair of pants for this milestone! I know you want to lose more, but a little reward for your hard work so far will help with the next 50. You'll feel prettier!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! I plan to go shopping for a new pair of jeans early next week, before taking a little 5 day trip to visit friends.
Delete:) :) :)
Amazing! Have you heard of the book "Trim Healthy Mama"? It's the "in thing" at my MOPS group right now. I haven't read it (not forking over $35/hoping it will show up at the library) but my friends recommend it. I think there's a facebook page as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen, for the recommendation. I have not heard of this book, but it must be quite a book for $35. I will look it up . . . on FB, as well.
Delete:) :) :)
Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am watching my calories and exercising - starting a week ago. Lost #3 so far. My hope is to lose a pound and a half a week for a few weeks. I know that might not seem like it should be so hard, but it's those pounds close to the target weight that are the hardest it seems.
I'm using Mynetdiary online for tracking. I have the free app on my phone. It's awesome!!!!!!!!
Great job! I can only dream of getting so close to my target weight. :) But, I know it will come.
DeleteI'll check out that app for my phone. Thanks for the recommendation.
A friend shared something with me last summer (which so totally applies to your difficult situation): "When life is so out of control, I need to take control of the one and only thing that I really can control: what goes into my mouth." We cannot control our children's behavior (oh don't we wish), but we can control our behavior at the dinner table.
:) :) :)
love the tip !! lol
Delete50 pounds in that amount of time on your own (and through the holidays) is amazing!! Good work!
ReplyDeleteI have been going back at it for about a week now and seeing my results coming back. Need to tone this body back up!
I have been using Shakeology shakes for a meal a day and I love them!
Also I use my fitness pal which is a great app!
Keep going! You can do it...and yes treat yourself to those jeans!
Thanks, Katie! Always fun to hear from you. :)
DeleteHaven't heard about Shakeology. I'll have to look into it. I, too, usually have 1 meal a day that is a Protein Shake (w/ fruit thrown in).
I've heard about the Fitness Pal, but haven't tried it yet. Sadly, I have had a really messed up knee for the past 4 months, so have not been able to really work out much.
Keep up the good work, yourself!
Laurel :)
awww, you're so inspiring! =)
ReplyDeleteI am back on track again... chugging away slowly at it.
50 lbs! wow! go pick up 50 lbs of flour and picture just how much that is! That is like losing one of my kids off my back, lol.
woot woot! so proud of you~
~Sheri
Thanks, Friend!
Delete50# of Flour? Maybe 50# of Crisco (solid fat). LOL
"Losing one of my kids off my back." Oh yea!
Glad you are back on track. Keep at it. You can do it!
Laurel :)
