Baby Shakes and Daisy Cakes

I went to a Baby Shower tonight.

The Baby's Name is Daisy.

So . . .

I decided to make "Daisy Cakes".

But . . .

let me take a few steps back a bit.

While I do love to scrapbook,

I am not necessarily known as "The Crafty One".

I LOVE Crafty Ideas . . .

but don't often actually try them.

This was a "Church Ladies" Baby Shower.

I am definitely still the "newcomer".

I knew I couldn't "compete" with the expense of a gift . . .

so I thought I would try the "Cute Factor", instead.

I do not have a Pinterest Account . . .

only because I know it would suck my precious time away.

So, I Googled "Baby Gifts" to see what I could find.

And, up popped a couple of Pinterest Sites.

I hopped off to Target yesterday . . .

and came home with these . . .

I popped out to my garage this morning . . .

and rounded up these . . .

First . . .

I made some "Baby Shakes" . . .

followed by some "Daisy Cakes".

I rolled up 2 pair of Leggings and 2 little Onsies . . .

and popped them into the bottom of each cup.

They didn't fill out the cup very well . . .

so I re-rolled each of them around some matching-colored tissue paper . . .

and re-stuffed the cups.

I then rolled up 4 white Wash Cloths . . .

for a bit of Whipped Cream to top off the Baby Shakes.

I rolled two little Pink Socks into balls . . .

and popped a "Cherry" onto the tops of 2 of the drinks.

I then cut 2 straws in half . . .

and popped them in through the top of each cup.

For the Daisy Cakes . . .

I folded 4 flannel Receiving Blankets into a 3" wide strip.

I bunched up 3 Onsies and 1 Wash Cloth . . .

laid one across one end of each Receiving Blanket . . .

and rolled the whole thing up (securing with a rubber band).

I popped each "Daisy Cake" into 2 Coffee Filters . . .

and secured them with the cutest little Headbands.

(I was planning to just use ribbon, until I saw these adorable little headbands at Target.)

I then pulled out my trusty Cricut Machine . . .

and made some Name Tags.

Of course I needed to use a Daisy cutout for my Daisy Cakes.

Then . . .

I cut out 4 little Baby Buggies . . .

each in the color of the Baby Shake . . .

and gave them Cute Little Names.

Orange:  Orange Citrus Smoothie

Green:  Mama's Mint Mocha

Dark Pink:  Raspberry Royal

Light Pink:  Daisy's Strawberry Milk Shake

And . . .

the verdict was . . .

it was the HIT of the party.

One lady told me that she was definitely going to steal my idea for the next

Church Ladies' Baby Shower.

I told her that 4 of us might show up with the same thing.  (smile)

It was cute.

It was fun.

It was easy.

It was fairly inexpensive.

It was appreciated.

I think I just might allow myself some more Pinterest Time . . .

next time I have a party to go to.

Here are links to where I got the ideas:
